After visiting the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, we headed around the tip of the Leelanau Peninsula down to Northport. Northport’s Municipal Marina is really nice, and has great boater’s accommodations for example, a full laundry where detergent and fabric softener is provided, for $3.00, unlimited use!!
Upon our arrival here we were pleasantly surprised by a visit from another couple from ‘C’ Dock – our good friends Ken and Mary! The ‘Fixation’ crew brought along some complementary libations which we made good use of over the afternoon and into the evening on the MnM, having great conversations and a lot of laughs. Afterwards we all went to dinner in town, which is walking distance away, at the Garage Bar and Grill. Their salads there are terrific. Definitely recommended.
We spent the next day getting some exercise in, going for a nice walk around the town and doing Mel’s essential shopping – looking for stickers to use in her journal. The town while small, has a lot to offer and is a fun place to explore.
I was advised later in the day by our followers that I was severely delinquent in updating our blog posts, so I spent the late afternoon and evening addressing my responsibilities. Our followers are a tough group 😁.
So, its Friday morning now and we will be leaving Northport shortly for another extended cruise down into Grand Traverse Bay to our next stop – Suttons Bay – a total distance of around 9 miles!
Talk to you then!!
